Editorial Policy: How We Research and Check Every Guide
Last updated September 23, 2026
Sources
We base guidance on clinical guidelines (for example NICE, national health services, the American Urological Association and professional societies), systematic reviews and peer-reviewed studies. Every guide lists the sources we actually used. When evidence is weak or mixed, we say so.
How a guide is made
- We research what people actually ask, then outline the answer and the red flags.
- A writer drafts the guide from primary sources.
- A licensed clinician reviews it for accuracy and safety (see medical review). Until that happens the page says “clinical review pending”.
- We re-check guides at least once a year, or sooner when guidelines change. The date at the top shows the last update.
Words we avoid
We don’t promise cures, guaranteed results, fixed timelines or changes in size. Results from studies are reported with their context — for example, whether participants trained with a physical therapist or used biofeedback.
Commercial content
Roundups and comparisons follow a published scoring method. We disclose when a page includes our own app or affiliate links. Advertisers and partners never review or approve our content.
